Garrin Hirschhorn is an Atlanta-based fine artist who creates vibrant, colorful mixed media paintings in the Expressionist style. He enjoys working with figurative and non-representational subjects. Hirschhorn creates works of art that look at modern society from afar, and the impact of the individual on his or her surroundings. His most recent series, "Cravings and Aversions", is a meditation on our emotional states. The series was inspired by a yoga teacher at Yoga Samadhi, who asked the class, "Are you in a state of craving or aversion? Is your mind in the past or future?" This series looks at a particular state of emotion from the perspective of observer. Hirschhorn's previous series, "Urban Rockstars", explores the impact of technology on modern society. The painting "Modern Day Romance" shows a couple experiencing an intimate moment -- while talking on their cell phones. |
